48 Hour Bug

Posted by september29th on Jan 28 2009 | Life

Slipping into my second day of being sick…  happy to report that I have added sneezing uncontrollably to my list of aliments.

Seems like the deep chest congestion has moved up to my head.  I’m hoping that’s a good sign.   I feel very cloudy upstairs tho’.

Woke up at 4:00am and thought that I was going to be in some real trouble.   You know that little fleshy ball at the back of your throat?   It felt like someone took a razor blade and cut it all up.   This is undoubtedly related to the fierce cough I have.  I got up – went into the kitchen and downed two mucinex, 2 tylenol and a big glass of orange juice.  grabbed a few cough suppressent drops and went back to bed.   I sorta laid awake and took a cat nap until 6 am.

My appitite isn’t back.   I tried eating last night and that didn’t go over to well.   I’m going to force myself to some soup this morning but I’m in no rush.   I can’t taste anything…  and feel like I can’t keep anything down.

On the bright side… I feel a little better today.   It sorta feels like I have this thing on the ropes.

sick day

Posted by september29th on Jan 27 2009 | Life

Typing this entry up from the comfort of my living room couch…  called in sick today, thanks to a terrible cough and fever I can’t seem to shake.

I hate being sick.

Mainly because it brings the worst out of me…  I become very unpleasant and don’t always take good advice to get better.

Need to get to the local grocery store to get some items to make soup.  Can’t muster the energy to do it tho’.

Blegh in the Alamo City,

Worked Up over the Weekend

Posted by september29th on Jan 24 2009 | Life

Weekend is finally here and no one could be more possibly excited about that than me.   The work week was unusually hectic.. and it’s to get a lot more busy in the coming weeks.

I knew that if I could just get to Friday night that the rest would take care of itself.

Made it out to scoot night last night and had a really good time with friends… I haven’t had a chance to ride the scooter a lot this winter but thats all about to change with the weather being as nice as it is right now.

Fin came out last night and she got to see what a scooter meetup was like for the first time ever.  It was pretty tame in some respects but it was a chance to give her a glimpse into something I participate in a lot.

We had dinner with friends and then made it over to her house to unwind and enjoy each others company.  We’re going to get to spend a lot of time together this weekend… and its something I’m going to take full advantage of too because we have very different work schedules.

Time for a nap I think.

Season 5 of LOST

Posted by september29th on Jan 21 2009 | HDTV

Season 5 of LOST kicked off tonight… I’m tuning in because I’m 4 seasons and hundreds of hours into the story line.

I’ve seen about 3/4 of the season premiere… and I’m struggling to find a reason to keep watching this show anymore.

I just need to see it through and not complain along the way…

New ekobase should drop in a few days. be on the look out for that.

Clone Wars

Posted by september29th on Jan 21 2009 | DVD

got around to watching the Clone Wars last night on DVD… I didn’t know all that much about the new CGI movie other than it was of the same name of a Clone Wars cartoon set I enjoyed immensely. as soon as I threw in the DVD, I began to wonder if this movie would acknowledge the other on in any way. the film sorta kicks off with a very noisy battle… to which I lost interest in rather quickly.

I then began to instant message with Terrible Ted and asked what the deal was with the new movie… he admitted to never seeing it but he said that the cartoon series was about 13 episodes deep.

Cartoon Series?

“Don’t forget to drink your Ovaltine” is more like it…

I got your decoder ring right here Lucas.

Friday Nite : Scooter Night?

Posted by september29th on Jan 20 2009 | Life, Scooting

Put out a few feelers today to see if anyone I knew was going to make it out to “Scooter Night” this Friday at the Quarry.

I rarely attend these types of things but I haven’t had a chance to meet up with local scooterists (that a word?) since 3CR 4.

Anyhoo… if you’re in the Alamo City and you ride a scooter : I should be in attendance.

in appreciation of : Goonies

Posted by september29th on Jan 19 2009 | Film, Life

I’m about to admit to something that may come as a bit of a surprise to many of you… prior to last night I had never really sat down and seen Goonies from beginning to end.

I sorta had an idea as to what the movie was about… but never saw it because it seemed a little hokey.

A local theater in town called The Alamo Drafthouse had a special event showing of the movie so I asked Zissou is she’d be up for checking it out with some friends of mine who expressed interest in going.

She got pretty excited and actually quoted a line from the movie when I asked. I didn’t fess up to not seeing it until we sat down in the theater. My friends were shocked that I hadn’t seen it yet.

All in all the movie is pretty solid. I was surprised by how many times the kid actors said shit. I don’t exactly understand “sloth”… what he is or what becomes of him. I just know that “chunk” adopts him at the end.

There were a few times in the movie where all I could do is say
“thats fucked up”.

N-E-Who…. if you haven’t seen it yet. Check it out. It rocks wang.

Birthday Salute : Henry B.

Posted by september29th on Jan 18 2009 | Life

Want to extend big-birthday-ups to my friend Henry Borrego!

I met him in passing a few years ago at a Third Coast Rally 3 and then got to know him a lot better after hanging out @ Sandblast 2.

I can honestly say that making friends with Henry made it a lot easier to live in the City of San Antonio. He’ll never know it but he’s been very instrumental in helping me find myself again. For that Henster, I am forever indebted to you.

You have a sense of humor that I not only admire, but outright envy. Tonight we will toast your 35th birthday and demand that you tell us how you’ve managed to preserve yourself so well.

Happy Birthday amigo,
Alamo City Rollie
