Percy stole a bolt and they wrote a book about it..
When its all said in done… one day my kids will ask if I got swept up into the Harry Potter, Twilight, Percy Jackson books of my time.
I’ll happily say that I never read a page but saw all the fucking movies….
Keeping that promise I watched the Lightning Thief last night I sorta felt it was a C+ kinda movie… I had higher hopes actually. Don’t know if I’m going to watch future installments.
Don’t think there will be any future installments, as it didn’t do too well at the box office.

And while it wasn’t a great movie, I thought that the joke about Los Angeles being hell made it entirely worth my while. That and Rosario Dawson and Steve Coogan’s parts.

I was going to ask Tree’s thoughts on the book to movie translation… I think the movie weighed in at 2 hours so I was curious to hear if they took liberties with the story in anyway or if they managed to leave stuff out.
I found Steve Coogan’s role a little unrewarding… mainly because of his brief screen time and how he got duped out of the bolt in less than 4 minutes. That and his wardrobe was a hot mess. He looked like a backing member for Black Sabbath that sorta plays keyboards off to the very far right of a dimly lit stage.
I was also disappointed that no one grabbed the SG Gibson guitar to thrash one of the hell hounds in the head.
